Surcare Mono [Poliglecaprone 25] is a monofilament Synthetic Absorbable Suture which is a copolymer of glycolide and caprolactone. This is an improvised synthetic suture acclaimed by most surgeons.
Virtues
Surcare Mono is smooth, making it easier to pass through the tissues as
compared to braided sutures. It has a consistency close to nylon suture material.
Surcare Mono is absorbed in tissues by simple hydrolysis and is known for its reliable absorption.
The undyed suture retains approx 78.7% of the tensile strength at 7 days, 39.6% of tensile strength at 14 days, 15.31% tensile strength after 21 days. 4.4% after 28 Days When implanted in rat and the suture is essentially absorbed within 90-120 days.
Material
Monofilament Synthetic Absorbable Suture which is a copolymer of glycolide and caprolactone, available in undyed and violet colour.
Tissue Reaction
Grade-1 Reactivity - Slight
Applications
Soft-tissue approximation, subcuticular dermis closures of the face and as ligature.
Choices & Sizes
Avoid using in areas of high tension and also for percutaneous skin closure.
